Children can arrive from 8am. Breakfast is available on request.
At 9am the first session commences. Highly trained staff plan a half termly overview of topics (for example growth or at the seaside). Staff are aware of childrens own interests and can individually plan from this to encourage their own interests and progress learning at their own speed. Children are encouraged to question and discover for themselves, both inside and outside in the garden or in our local environment.
Children select their own activities and move to others when they want to.
At the end of a session gather together to share learning, sing songs, play games or read stories.
During the morning children choose when they wish to go and help themselves to a nutritious snack (which usually includes fresh fruit).
Lunch is served to children in small family groups, children use china and cutlery . Staff sit with the children and encourage good table manners, and conversation.
The afternoon session begins at 1.30 and runs through to the end of the day at 4pm.
Twice a week we have a popular music session which is run by a musician who visits the setting.
We run a few Forest school sessions for children at Little Orchard Nursery and Pre-school and have Forest school style activities on offer.
