Fun in the icy garden

The children have been having a wonderful time over the past 2 weeks exploring the effects of ice outside. They have seen what happens when frost is melted by the sun and the patterns made on the grass.

Finding ice outside in various containers has become a game. This has extended into children using their imagination to pretend that ice is dinosaur teeth.

Our new gardener is not finding the frost as much fun. We cannot begin planting the seeds for this years vegetables until it warms up a little.

Christmas at Little Orchard

We have had a busy week this week with a Christmas lunch on Wednesday and various Christmassy activities on offer to the children throughout the week. We are looking forward to a visit from Father Christmas on Friday at our Christmas party. We would like to take this opportunity to wish everyone a very Happy Christmas and New Year.

Term starts again on Tuesday 3rd January 2017.

Fond Farewell

At the end of July we bid a fond farewell to Val Eldridge, a founding member of Moorlands. She has been an invaluable help during the hand over period. We know she will be missed by staff and children. We wish her every happiness in her retirement.

International Mud Day

We have begun to make a mud kitchen for the children, in preparation for International Mud day. We have a Forest school practitioner coming into the Nursery and Pre-school, to run sessions with the children in groups throughout the morning on the 29th June. We are hoping to have lots of fun outside.

Little Orchard Nursery and Pre-School opens its doors.

On Wednesday 1st April Little Orchard Nursery and Pre-school will open its doors after taking over ownership from Moorlands Childhood Centre. Caroline and Alaine will be taking the reins and Val and Sheryl will be having a few days off over the Easter holidays, but will be back with us next term. We are looking forward to having fun with the children over Easter with events such as Easter egg hunts, cooking, messy play, chocolate playdough and hopefully an Easter hat parade.

Parking

The police have asked parents not to park directly outside the nursery on the pavement as it blocks the view for cars coming out from Heather Park. There is parking further down the road.

Ofsted Registration approved for Little Orchard Nursery and Pre-School

Ofsted have approved  Little Orchard Nursery and Pre-school taking over from Moorland childhood centre. We will be taking over from the 1st April 2015.

We are pleased to announce that Val and Sheryl will both be staying on at Little Orchard to work for us. We are sure that the children will be delighted.

Parents are invited to a 'Meet us' wine and nibbles evening on the 19th March at 7.30pm 2015. Caroline and Alaine are looking forward to meeting all the parents and will be there to answer any questions you may have.
