TERM TIME AT LITTLE ORCHARD
Our Term Time Calendar follows South Brent Primary School
At Little Orchard we have The Acorn Room for children aged 2-3 years. This room is small and can cater for up to 12 children. The Acorn room operates for the morning session and children within this age group join the older children if they stay for the afternoon session. This provides all the children with an opportunity to play with each other and show care and consideration. It is also very beneficial for building confidence for the older children who enjoy looking after the little ones !
The Oak room is for children aged 3 plus, or when it is agreed with parents that their child is ready for the transition. The Oak room is made up of four areas, the library, the den, the snug and the studio. This room operates from 8am-5pm Monday – Thursday and 9am-3pm Friday
We offer your child the opportunity to learn at their own pace in our stimulating environment. We have a wonderful homely indoor space where children can access all areas of the curriculum.
Your child’s key worker will track their learning and guide them to complete areas they find more challenging, through well planned, exciting activities.
We are lucky to have a beautiful garden, which allows children to play outside whatever the weather. We are developing this area so the children have full access to activities such as growing vegetables for use in the kitchen, den building, riding trikes and bikes, reading, writing and completing messy outdoor and creative activities. We have two mud kitchen kitchens and we actively promote the ethos of Forest School. We also have a gardener who comes in weekly.
HOLIDAY CLUB AT LITTLE ORCHARD
Currently Holiday Club runs on a Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday 8.00am-4.00pm. The activities are led by the children and their interests as well as what is topical at the time. For example during the Tokyo Summer Olympics the children had their own games and created their own Olympic flag, torches and medals.
